Chocolate, PB, Banana Smoothie!!

The struggle is definitely real   It's Christmas day..... I've just finished a large Christmas breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon - per the request of the 4 littles in the house.  Now I'm busily baking away in the kitchen preparing for what is one of my most unhealthy and delicious meals of the year - CHRISTMAS DINNER!!! 🙌🏼 LOVE me some Christmas dinner.

However, as I continuously eye the homemade holiday candy on the counter, and smell the brown sugar baking on the sweet potatoes in the oven (i'm human girls...yes I eat all of those things for Christmas 😊⛄️) I thought I would give my body a little break on this deliciously unhealthy holiday food day with a festive looking meal replacement smoothie for lunch.  Unlike the green machine smoothie I posted a couple weeks ago, this one looks similar but is the opposite end of the spectrum.

This little beauty is a chocolate, peanut butter, and banana delight!  With only 360 calories and 32g of muscle building protein, this is a delicious and easy way to get a healthy dose of vitamins, nutrients, and protein to keep you full and satisfied!

You'll need the following:

  • Vanilla Protein powder (or sub in chocolate if you want yours extra chocolaty :)

  • 2 cups spinach

  • 1/2 banana

  • 2 tablespoons powdered peanut butter (WAY less calories and fat than regular peanut butter but still a good amount of protein)

  • 1/2 cup chocolate almond milk

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • Handful of ice

Put everything into a mixer and blend away until smooth!!! One tip - I used regular chocolate almond milk in this picture because it's all I had but I would prefer and suggest unsweetened chocolate almond milk.  Reduces your sugar count by 10g and still tastes great!!!
